Sign up for an archaeological excursion to explore the highlights of Aswan by gazing at a modern wonder of technology, the Aswan High Dam, due to which Philae Island and its temples had to be relocated. You will visit Philae Island by motorboat to sightsee the Isis Temple, Trajan Kiosk, Nilometer and also the last hieroglyphic inscriptions of ancient times.

Day - 1

Pick-up by a professional tour guide from Safaga Port to drive through the desert and past picturesque villages to Aswan.
Our first stop is at a modern wonder of technology; built in the 1950s, the Aswan High Dam, which brought the Nile’s devastating floods to an end, reclaimed more than 100,000 acres of desert land for agriculture and made further crops possible on an additional 800,000 acres.
After lunch at a good local restaurant, we board a motorboat to Philae Island.
As a result of the construction of the Aswan Low Dam, Philae Island was completely submerged in the Nile, but with the help of UNESCO, it found a new home on the Island Agilkia. The first structure that greets visitors is the iconic Trajan's Kiosk, built in the 2nd Century AD by the Roman Emperor Trajan. The main structure on the island is the Temple of Isis, the goddess of health, marriage, motherhood, and wisdom. You will visit the temples and the ancient Nilometer, your guide will point out the world last written Hieroglyphs by Priest Nesmeterakhem and the Napoleon Bonaparte French Campaign graffiti.
At the end of the tour, you will be brought to your Aswan Hotel (Bed & Breakfast).
Optional (not included) is a visit to the Nubian Village (extra charges apply).

Day - 2

After breakfast, you will be brought back to Safaga Port.
Optional (not included) is an early morning visit to the Nubian Monuments of Abu Simbel (extra charges apply).
