Sign up for this excursion to enjoy a ride south from Luxor through picturesque villages to the Edfu Temple, dedicated to the Falcon-God Horus and get acquainted with religious myths and family history of Horus, Osiris and Isis. Then, visit Kom Ombo, the famous double temple dedicated to "Horus the Elder" and Sobek.

Day - 1

Pick up by a professional tour guide and drive south past picturesque villages.
You visit the Edfu Temple, dedicated to the God Horus. The complex has a pillared hall, two diagonal halls and a sanctuary surrounded by chapels. The walls provide details of the construction, the religious myths and the family history of Horus. The temple is nearly intact and strongly connected to the Hathor Temple in Denderah as Hathor was not only aunt and wet nurse of Horus but also his wife.
You will have lunch in a good local restaurant (food only).
After lunch, you will drive further south to Kom Ombo to visit the famous double temple, dedicated to "Horus the Elder" and Sobek. There are some remarkable scenes on the temple walls which will be explained to you like the portrayal of a set of surgical instruments that look extraordinarily like the ones we use today. Furthermore, there is a beautiful depiction of an ancient calendar, showing the hieroglyph figures for the days of the month and the seasons.
We won't forget a quick visit to the onsite Crocodile Museum with its huge mummified crocodiles.
Finally you will be brought back to your hotel in Luxor.
